Christmas Bucket List

Festive side quests for December: things to make, places to go after dark and small ways to give. Each with a mission, steps and a kit list.

Pick one for me

December fills up with things you’re supposed to do. This Christmas bucket list is the other kind: a lights rally your neighbors helped plan, a gingerbread house modeled on a real building on your street, three carols at five doors, a box of cookies for the neighbor you’ve only ever nodded at.

Pick one a week from the first of December and the month has a shape. Every card links to a full guide with steps, time and gear.

Get Out After Dark

December nights are long and lit up. Walk a lights route with a thermos, sing at a few doors, or gather evergreen for the front door.

A thrift-store Secret Santa with a $10 limit and a made-up backstory for every gift, a caroling round, or a lights rally where everyone scores the houses.
